Trusted Physiotherapy for New Mills Patients

We know New Mills is a bit of a trek, so every appointment is used to full effect – a thorough assessment first, then a treatment plan built around your specific injury and what it’ll take to get you back to normal, whether that’s back pain, a sports injury or post-surgical rehabilitation.

Getting to Handforth Physiotherapy from New Mills

By Car

New Mills patients typically reach us via the A6 and A523 - around 13 miles, roughly 25–30 minutes by car (traffic dependent). We don't have our own on-site car park, but there's a Pay & Display car park directly opposite the clinic - 90p per hour, or free after 3pm - where a space is almost always available; many patients tell us the small fee is well worth a guaranteed spot. Free parking is also available on Sagars Road, a two-minute walk from the clinic.

New Mills has two stations (New Mills Newtown and New Mills Central) on the Buxton line and bus links, but both routes run via Stockport and take around an hour - considerably longer than the drive.

A good local reference point: Torrs Riverside Park/the Millennium Walkway.

Sports & Deep Tissue Massage

Sports & Deep Tissue Massage complements physiotherapy well for New Mills patients managing muscle tightness from hill walking, running or general training in the Torrs.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy is often the next step for New Mills patients whose plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow or Achilles tendinopathy hasn't settled with rest and standard treatment alone.

Women's Health Physiotherapy

Women's Health physiotherapy supports New Mills patients through pregnancy, postnatal recovery and pelvic health concerns, including breast care physiotherapy and pessary fitting.

Men's Health Physiotherapy
